Brno-Lužánky - monument to Josef Merhaut

It is located at the crossroads in Lužánky, Brno's largest park. Josef Merhaut (1863-1907) lived most of his life in Brno. He was a journalist, writer and theater critic, one of the leading representatives of Moravian literature at the end of the 19th century. His work stood out with socially sympathetic and incriminating stories from the Brno environment, in which impressionistic moodiness prevailed.
