The place where this village is located was already inhabited in the Stone Age. The finds that were made here in the 19th century – a stone chisel and a drilled stone ax – went to the Vienna State Museum. The first mention of the village, which arose on the way from Hradec Králové to Hořice, comes from a church Latin document dated September 25, 1376, where it is also called Prziess.
