Břeclav - former sugar factory

In the middle of the 19th century, there is a great demand for sugar and therefore this branch of industrial activity begins to develop rapidly. It was discovered that sugar beet thrives very well in this region on the areas after drained ponds, so one pond after another is gradually dried up and beet fields are established here.
