Brechschmied's chapel
You can find Brechschmied's chapel on the green marked path - a shortcut that runs along the road from Horní Maxov to Josefov Dol. The hexagonal chapel is built on the spot where the blacksmith Kuntze is said to have signed himself to the devil. Kuntze was born near this place in 1700, inherited his father's Blacksmith trade, later traded in flax and bought an inn near Sychrov from Prince Rohan. He became immensely rich, he said…
