The Wallachian village of Branky in the Vsetín district with approximately 920 inhabitants is located in the valley of the Loučka River approximately 5 kilometers west of Valašské Meziříčí. The first mention of the village is from 1270, when Olomouc bishop Bruno of Schauenburg granted it to Mrs. Katarína, the widow of Albert Stange. Even though Branky is much smaller than its neighbor Valašská Maziříčí, it can also be described as having two castles. I call one of them…
