The Slavník mountain (627 meters above sea level) rises above the surroundings in the vast Blatenská pahorkatina at its southwestern edge. It rises from the undulating plain that extends in the valley of the Otava river from Horažďovice to the Budětická vrchovina. Slavník itself means the same to this region as Říp means to the whole country.
