The town of Bechyně does not need a long introduction. The place on the right bank of the Lužnice has been inhabited since prehistoric times. On the spur above the river in the 13th century, Přemysl Otakar II left to build a castle and at the beginning of the fourteenth century John of Luxembourg founded the town itself in the castle grounds.
