Bavorov – Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

The predecessor of the current magnificent building can be assumed to be a church that could have stood here already at the end of the 13th century, i.e. after the founding of the city. Originally it was a branch church, the parish was in Velká Blanica. The parish was transferred after 1360, when Bavorov became the property of the Rožmberks, who initiated its relocation.
The completion of the basic Gothic part could thus have already taken place at the end of the 14th century (1370–89...
