5 most attractive tourist tips in Jindřichohradeck

The South Bohemian region offers a lot of beautiful places, we certainly cannot debate that for a long time. In addition to the fact that there are historical towns such as Český Krumlov or Tábor, we must not forget the former district of Jindřichův Hradec. It is not missing lock literally like a fairy tale, but not an interesting prospect or a good portion of entertainment. So let's take a narrow-gauge ride and see how we like it!

1. Červená Lhota Castle

Of course, we don't need to remind you of the famous Czechoslovak fairy tale that was filmed here and which absolutely everyone knows. The first written source mentions Červená Lhota at the beginning of the second half of the fifteenth century. The property of Vilém Slavata or the Windischgrätz family is open to the public since 1949, you will find excellent tourist facilities here. A walk from nearby Deštná won't hurt, because you won't be walking along a busy road, rather the opposite. A tour of the castle takes about an hour, you can see sixteen different noble chambers.

2. Jindřichův Hradec castle and chateau

Today it covers an area of almost four hectares, formerly there was a massive Slavic fortress. Castle in Jindřichov Hradec was founded in the thirteenth century, today you can see here not only Adam's Building and the Gothic Palace, but also the famous Black Tower. The combination of Renaissance and Baroque styles attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year, the building once belonged to Vilém Slavata or the Černín family from Chudenice. It's really only a few minutes walk from the city center or the train station.

Away with electric locomotives, now is the time of the couple! Reminisce about the nineteenth century and take a ride on the narrow-gauge line to Nová Bystřice or Obratán. An experience that is not offered in every region - and you will remember it for a long time, even with the children. A train just like in the old days, when it was still heated with coal...

4. Jindřichohradecky Aquapark

Swimming pool with a length of twenty-five meters, an eighty-meter indoor water slide and a number of interesting water attractions, you can even play volleyball here. There is also a wild river or boletus, and it is also open all year round. Such swimming pool we have to like each other, right?

5. Landštejn Castle

The huge ruins of the castle, which was abandoned at the end of the eighteenth century and previously belonged to the Černín family from Chudenice or Landštejn family. The Romanesque core of the castle was completed in the following centuries, the castle itself is located at an altitude of more than six hundred meters. It is located near the border with Austria, near the Old Town under Landštejn.

As you can see, Jindřichův Hradec and its surroundings definitely have a lot to offer, even if this area is sometimes – perhaps undeservedly – in the shadow of České Budějovice or Tábor. However, if you are planning a trip to the south of Bohemia, you should definitely not miss Neuhaus, as it used to be called.
